Apisa named Hawaii REALTOR of the Year

LIHUE — Hawaii REALTORS, a leading statewide professional trade organization for the real estate industry, on Wednesday announced Donna Apisa the 2025 Hawaii REALTOR of the Year.

“Donna is an exemplary leader who shows an unwavering commitment to ethical excellence and to giving back to her Kauai community,” said Lance Owens, president of Hawaii REALTORS.

Apisa, who has 46 years of experience in the real estate industry, is president and CEO of Aloha Sotheby’s International Realty and of Aloha Hawaii Rentals. She started her real estate career in 1979 and earned her broker’s license in 1981, the same year she moved to Kauai.

In 1985, she founded Oceanfront Realty International, Inc., which was recently rebranded as Aloha Sotheby’s International Realty after expanding offices on Kauai and Hawaii Island.

Apisa is a past president of the Kauai Board of REALTORS where she has also served as chair of the Professional Standards and Ethics and County Issues committees, and has served as a Kauai County Planning commissioner.

She has donated her time and resources to many charitable initiatives, including as president of the YWCA of Kauai, the Kauai Chamber of Commerce, and the Princeville Community Association. She and her companies donate time and money to the Kauai Habitat for Humanity. Additionally, she has provided direct aid to families in crisis and offered housing assistance to those who have nowhere else to turn.

Apisa’s professional designations include Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager, Certified Residential Specialist and Graduate, REALTORS Institute.

Every year since 1967, the award has recognized an outstanding REALTOR in Hawaii for their work in the interest of fellow REALTORS, the profession and the community.

Hawaii REALTORS, founded in 1967 with nearly 11,000 active members, is involved in all aspects related to the sale, purchase, management or exchange of real estate in Hawaii.
