Police are seeking several unknown individuals who are thought to have broken into a Pahoa home and tied up the residents before robbing them.
According to a Hawaii Police Department report, residents of a home on Highway 130 reported at about 4:52 a.m. that “four to five males with firearms” forcibly entered their home and tied up six victims inside, ranging in age from 15-43 years old.
Two male victims reportedly were assaulted and sustained minor injuries, for which they declined treatment.
The assailants are described as standing between 5 feet, 7 inches and 6 feet tall, and wore dark clothing covering them from head to toe.
The 6-foot-tall suspect was described as “slender,” while the remainder had “husky” builds.
They left the scene in a single vehicle, but the victims provided no description of that vehicle.
However, the suspects are thought to be local males who spoke with pidgin accents.
The case is under investigation, and was classified as robbery, burglary, assault, unlawful imprisonment and terroristic threatening.
