LIHUE — Melissa McFerrin Warrack, the Specialty Leasing Manager and special events coordinator at the Kukui Grove, unexpectedly passed on Nov. 7 , 2025, at 54 years old.
McFerrin Warrack was also closely connected to the Koloa Plantation Days, an annual event spanning nearly 10 days of activities and festivals celebrating the people and times of plantation life.
Everyone is invited to a celebration of Melissa’s life on Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the site where last year’s Mele Makeke was held, or the former space of Macy’s Men’s. More recently, the Kauai Community College Cognition Learning Center hosted a Halloween event here.
Guests are invited to enter the space from the entrance close to the Kuleana Work Space and The Kauai Bus stop near the big monkeypod tree.
In lieu of flowers, organizers ask that you consider a donation to the Hawaii Children’s Theater, an organization where she served as a board member and where her son Finnegan participated in numerous productions.
