Chloe Ayonon strong in Hawaii Rush victory

SAN DIEGO, California — The Hawaii Rush 08G team won the Best of the Best division last weekend during the 2025 Surf Cup played in San Diego, California.

“The Surf Cup is one of the most competitive youth soccer tournaments in the nation,” said Colby Ayonon, a coach with the Island School girls soccer program, and the father of Chloe Ayonon. “The tournament draws elite teams from across the country, and winning the top bracket is no small feat.”

Chloe, a graduate of Island School and captain of the girls’ soccer team, was instrumental in helping the Hawaii Rush 08G throughout the tournament with her consistent performance on both ends of the field.

“Her leadership and playmaking skills were instrumental in guiding Hawaii Rush through the knockout rounds and ultimately lifting the championship trophy,” Coach Colby said.

With the Surf Cup and a year remaining in her high school career, Chloe is already committed to play NCAA Division I soccer at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she will join the Wolf Pack in 2026.

“This Hawaii Rush group has been together for years and has faced some of the top competition in the country,” Chloe said. “Winning Best of the Best was a dream finish to our Surf Cup story.”

Coach Colby said that with her final Surf Cup campaign ending in triumph, Chloe now turns her focus to her senior season at Island School and preparing for the next chapter of her career at the collegiate level.
