LIHUE — In observance of Statehood Day, County of Kauai offices will be closed on Friday, Aug. 16, along with all refuse transfer stations as well as the Waimea and Kapaa swimming pools.
In addition, all of the neighborhood centers, HI5 bottle redemption and composting bin distribution at the Kauai Resource Center, and Puhi Metals Recycling Center will be closed on Statehood Day.
HI5 bottle redemption centers in Kilauea, Kapaa and Kapahi will remain open.
The schedule for residential refuse pick-up will remain unchanged. The Kauai Bus will be operating on a modified schedule on the holiday.
It is a state holiday, so most state offices will also be closed.
Normal business hours for county offices and services will resume on Aug. 19.
