ANAHOLA — Mike and Becky Vallee and Da Funk! Band invites everyone to a free music festival on Saturday that will benefit the Kauai Independent Food Bank.
“Come move and groove with some of Kauai’s hottest local bands and entertainers at the Anahola Marketplace while helping feed your hungry neighbors,” Vallee said in a press release. “That’s right! Have fun while helping others in need. This year, with all the turmoil in our country, and the increase in grocery and food prices, your neighbors need help more than ever.”
Sponsored by Wynde and Victor Thomas, Security National Mortgage, Kauai County Councilmember Felicia Cowden, and Mike and Becky Vallee and Da Funk! Band, the music festival starts at 3 and runs until 9:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Anahola Marketplace.
In addition to the entertainers and musicians, food and local vendors will be on hand.
“Mahalo for helping the Kauai Independent Food Bank change the face of hunger on Kauai,” Vallee said. “Simply bring your nonperishable food donations, or make a monetary contribution to benefit the Kauai Independent Food Bank. All proceeds will be given directly to feed people right here on Kauai.”
Starting at 3 p.m., The DMinor Quartet will provide jazz until 4 p.m. when Cosa Bossa fills the marketplace with Latin dance music.
Tropical Groove will take the stage from 5:15 p.m. with Hawaiian music and a hula lesson until 6:30 p.m. when Vic and the Victimz unleashes its blues and rock oldies to warm the audience for the night’s headliner Da Funk! Band who will close with old school funk and disco dance music.
