Hank Curtis tickles the ivories on Friday

Rita Andriello-Feren of the Center for Spiritual Living announced that “celebrated pianist, composer, and arranger Henry ‘Hank’ Adam Curtis will perform live on Friday, starting at 6 p.m. at the All Saints Episcopal Church in Kapaa.’

“Hank will be sharing his signature blend of classical, crossover, jazz, and Hawaiian music,” Andriello-Feren said. “The concert will also be livestreamed on Facebook and at www.allsaintskauai.org.”

Curtis’s four solo piano albums showcase his versatility, spinning Hawaiian classics, Broadway, jazz, and original compositions. During the Friday concert, Hank will perform a dynamic program featuring his original compositions, jazz arrangements, and piano interpretations of music ranging from Bach to classic rock.

Raised in Laguna Beach and trained at USC and Mannes College of Music, Curtis has performed with the San Diego Symphony and released acclaimed recordings, including “A Different Mozart,” which reached the Billboard classical crossover top ten.

A Kauai resident since 1989, Curtis has been a driving force in the island’s music scene as a performer, music director, and educator. He has directed over 20 concerts with the Kauai Island Singers Showcase, or KISS, and led music ministries at St. Michael’s and All Angels Episcopal Church and All Saints Episcopal Church. He also conducted South Pacific from 2003 to 2016.

Joining Curtis as a guest artist is singer Rita Andriello-Feren, who trained with Metropolitan Opera star Maralin Niska and performed lead roles in musical theater for more than 20 years. Andriello-Feren also wrote and toured her original one-woman show, “Tomatoes on a Windowsill.”

Since moving to Kauai 12 years ago, Andriello-Feren has served as Co-Founding Spiritual Director of CSL Kauai. Her recent collaboration with Hank Curtis has rekindled her love of singing and performing, and on Friday, she will perform a short selection of beloved Broadway show tunes.

There is a suggested “Love Donation” of $25.
