Happy Camper for Friday, September 19, 2025

Kudo, and mahalo to everyone who supported the Special Olympics Kauai program! Kauai Police Department Sgt. Morris Unutoa and his Badges and Buckets team of officers said they made their $25,000 goal, and more!

For the guy at Starbucks that wanted to know what is happening besides the Grove Farm Market, there is the Island Crafters Fair that takes place at the Koloa Neighborhood Center on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., located across the street from Koloa Village, and next door to the collection of food trucks.

A lot of the action takes place in that area because the National Tropical Botanical Gardens hosts its monthly Grow Aloha Plant Giveaway on Saturday at both the South Shore Visitor Center and at Limahuli Gardens from 9 a.m.

According to the Kukui Grove calendar, there’s supposed to be the K+M Marketplace joining the shopping center’s tenants, and Long’s Drugs CVS is hosting its flu shot drive-through.

And, on Sunday, Edwin Vea and The Beach House Restaurant hosts its monthly craft fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with about 40 vendors.

Right after that, you can check out the International Day of Peace activities taking place in Hanapepe from 3 p.m.

Peace Day continues on Monday when the Honpa Hongwanji (this is an interfaith event) hosts “Ring Your Bell for Peace” where a minute of silence is observed at 9 a.m., followed by the ringing of bells and gongs starting at 9:01 a.m.
