Hawaii Island Adult Care Center announced Friday it will remain temporarily closed starting Monday and is scheduled to reopen on Oct. 5.
The center said in a statement the closure is in light of a recent spike in positive COVID-19 cases and deaths in Hilo.
HIAC Executive Director Marcie Saquing said there has not been any positive COVID-19 cases at the center, but the decision was made for the safety of its clients, who are a high-risk population, their families and caregivers, and the center’s staff and families.
For more information, call Saquing at 961-3747, ext. 107.
