KIPU — The Hawaii High School Rodeo Association (HHSRA) Kauai District launched its 2025-26 rodeo season on Saturday with a food drive at the new arena located on Hulemalu Road in Kipu.
“As part of their commitment to giving back, the kids participate in one or two community service projects each season,” said Tammy Puu, an HHSRA Kauai District officer. “Under the guidance of parent volunteers Shantell Shimogawa and Keana Olivera, the group chose to support the Kauai Independent Food Bank for this year.”
“Together, they collected a total of more than 220 pounds of food to help feed families across our island,” Puu said. “With the holidays approaching, this was a wonderful opportunity to contribute and help ensure no one goes hungry.”
The HHSRA Kauai District would like to extend its appreciation to the community for the continued support in perpetuating the sport of rodeo.
