Kalo, a cow and a King win Wilcox Halloween

LIHUE — Halloween came alive on Friday when hundreds of “babies born at Wilcox Hospital” and their families paraded through the Hawaii Pacific Health Wilcox Medical Center campus before a gauntlet of specially decorated hospital departments and judges.

Second place honors went to a family dressed as a coconut tree, coconut and a Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle.

A young boy dressed as Dr. Robert Wotring earned third place.

First to third place prizes were also awarded to Wilcox Health employees who dressed up for the occasion.

The Group winner was the Quality Department, who dressed up as aliens.

First place employee honors was awarded to Rachel Melchor who came as Lord Farquaad from Shrek. Melchor is part of the Kauai Medical Center Family Practice.

Jessica Anaya dressed as a cow being abducted by aliens to earn second place judging honors, and Amy Stewart as a Bluey dog received the third place honor.

The pumpkin decorating contest that was voted on by members of the community was won by the Security Department, which fielded a cow.
