LIHUE — A fresh chapter begins this summer at the Kauai Humane Society as the organization names a new Chief Executive Officer.
The Kauai Humane Society (KHS) announced on Tuesday that Ben Osorno will now serve as the new Interim Chief Executive Officer. Backed by almost 14 years of dedicated service, KHS explains that Osorno’s deep knowledge of shelter operations and his strong, trusted relationships with staff and the island community make him uniquely qualified to guide the organization through the transition.
“Ben embodies the mission of the Kauai Humane Society,” said KHS board president Dan Giovanni. “He leads with compassion, experience, and integrity. The staff, volunteers, and animals of our shelters are in capable and caring hands, and Ben has the full confidence of the board.”
Osorno’s leadership is effective immediately following the voluntary resignation of former Chief Executive Officer Padraic Gallagher. The organization vows to remain committed and work with renewed strength under Ben’s leadership.
The Kauai Humane Society is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday to Wednesday, and is closed on Thursdays. Residents interested in adopting can visit kauaihumane.org.
