LIHUE — The Kauai Interscholastic Federation has released its KIF Football All Stars for the 2024.
A lion’s share of votes belonged to players of the Central Pacific Bank KIF champion Kapaa High School, which was the KIF representative to Division I football at the Hawaii High School Athletic Association state level championships that included three divisions.
Kapaa High School, under the coaching of Mike Tresler and staff, went on to earn the first Hawaii Division I title for the island, and the KIF.
Kauai High School, the CPB KIF runner-up, represented the KIF at Division II play. Its coach, Mel Purcell, was voted Coach of the Year.
Waimea High School, previous two-time Division II state champuions, placed two of its Menehune, Mykah Brun on defense and Daniel Kaohelaulii-Kala on offense, on the list.
Nash Burkhart, a Kapaa High School senior who was voted to several positions, was named Defensive Player of the Year.
Nainoa Simmons, another Kapaa High School senior, was voted Offensive Player of the Year.
