Kauai Interscholastic Federation Tennis all-stars announced

LIHUE — The Kauai Interscholastic Federation released the KIF Tennis All-Stars on Thursday, ahead of the 2025 Island Insurance Hawaii High School Athletic Association Tennis State Championships that will contest at the Royal Lahaina Tennis Courts, Lahaina Civic Center on May 8-10.

The All-Stars for both the Boys and Girls divisions parallel the outcome of the qualifying matches that were played last week at both tennis court at Kapaa and Kauai high schools. Both the Central Pacific Bank KIF champion for Boys Singles, Boys Doubles, Girls Singles and Girls Doubles earned qualifications to advance to the state championships.

The KIF Boys Tennis All Stars for the Singles category include Kapaa High School junior Ryan Murata, who earned the top individualist honor, and semifinalist Swede Sandblom, a junior at Waimea High School.

The KIF Boys Doubles all-stars included the championship team of Aaron Hinazumi and Shosei Kai, both seniors at Kauai High School, and the semifinal team of Luka Lasky-Martin and Kainoa Danner, both juniors at Kapaa High School.

Kauai High School girls tennis players took all of the KIF all star spots, including top individualist Laney Carvalho, a sophomore, and Samantha Tominaga, a junior.

For the Girls Doubles all-stars, the Red Raider duo of Taylee Yamamoto, a junior, and Mia Marty, a senior, were joined by semifinalist team of Lily Corpuz and Ashley Chan, both juniors.

As demonstrated by the all-star listing, the KIF will be sending 10 players from Kauai High School to the state tournament. Kapaa High School will have three representatives, a singles player and a doubles team. Waimea will have a singles player advancing.
