Kauai United Way 2025 Campaign goal set to $600,000

The Kauai United Way launched its 2025 Campaign goal of $600,000 with its board members, representatives of partner agencies, and potential donors on Thursday at a luncheon hosted by the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa.

KUW Executive Director Lori Almarza said donors to the KUW Campaign give once and in doing so, help the network of agencies that are participating, or partner agencies. Additionally, donors should rest assured that all money raised on Kauai, stays on Kauai to help Kauai people.

Some of the participating agencies, based on their appearance on the Kauai United Way website, include Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kauai, Catholic Charities Hawaii-Kauai, Child &Family Service, Easerseals Hawaii, Girl Scouts of Hawaii, Goodwill Hawaii, Healing Horses Kauai, Hawaii Children’s Theatre, The Hawaii Foodbank Kauai, Kauai Economic Opportunity, Inc. — Homeless Program, Kauai Economic Opportunity, Inc. — Mediation, Kumu’s Cupboard, Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, Mental Health Kokua, Parents and Children Together (PACT), PATCH, The Salvation Army of Kauai, Scouting America, Aloha Council, and YMCA of Kauai.

To help get the campaign off to a strong start, Matson, represented by Ula Nakamura and Patrick Ono, offered a check for $7,500.

Lynnette M. Medrano-Stine, the KUW campaign development director, said one of the simplest ways of giving is through the payroll deduction program. She had material for companies at the luncheon so contributors could start immediately. Individuals can also contribute by visiting the Kauai United Way website at www.kauaiunite way.org.

Giving can be accomplished by participating in any of the special events coordinated by Tiffany Lopez, the KUW special events coordinator. These events include the dodge ball tournament, the golf tournament, golf ball drop, and more.

Kauai United Way is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to serving the social needs of Kauai since 1943.
