LIHUE — A number of road-related projects are on tap in the days ahead with grass cutting, tree trimming and guardrail repair making up the bulk of the work, the Hawaii Department of Transportation said in an update on Friday.

The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Friday. All work is weather permitting.
Pua Loke to Puhi
Right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.5 to 0.9 in the vicinity of Uahi Road and Anonui Street, from Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for restriping crosswalks.
Kipu to Omao
Roving lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 2.9 to 8.7 in the vicinity of Kipu Road and Omao Road, nightly from Sunday, September 7 to Friday, September 12 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping.
Lawai
Lane shift on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 9.9 to 10.3 in the vicinity of Akemama Road and Koloa Road, on Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for installation of new reflectors.
Kalaheo to Eleele
Right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 12.2 to 15.4 in the vicinity of Halewili Road and Mahea Road, on Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for cutting grass.
Waimea to Kekaha
Shoulder closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 23.3 to 24.3 between Royal Coconut Grove and Kikiaola Boat Harbor, on Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for ditch cleaning.
Nawiliwili
Right lane closure on Nawiliwili Road (Route 51) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.0 to 0.8, in the vicinity of Waapa Road and Kapule Highway, nightly on Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 12 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for asphalt widening, raised crosswalk and asphalt driveway installation
Lihue
Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction, between mile post 4.3 to 5, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Wailua Golf Course, on Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 12 from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for cutting grass.
Wailua
Two lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction, between mile post 5.6 to 5.9, in the vicinity of the mauka Wailua bridge, on Monday, September 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for bridge jacking. Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 20 to 21, in the vicinity of Koolau Road and Waiakalua Street, on Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.
Kilauea
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 23.2 to 23.6, in the vicinity of Kolo Road and Kalamania Road, nightly on Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 12 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving roundabout area.
Kalihiwai to Princeville
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 24.4 to 28.1, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, on Sunday, September 7 to Friday, September 12 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for rumble strip installation and striping.
Princeville to Hanalei
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.3 to 1.2 in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 12 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for drain line work.
Alternating single lane closure building to a full closure of Kuhio Highway (Route 560) in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 12 for asphalt reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Waikoko
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 4.3 to 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahai Trailhead, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside.
