Local girl appointed CFO at Kauai Island Utility Cooperative

LIHUE — Kauai Island Utility Cooperative announced in a press release that Erin Tsuda has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and financial vice president effective July 1.

Tsuda has been serving in the role on an interim basis since March, and has been finance manager at the cooperative since 2022.

“During her three years at KIUC, Erin has made significant contributions to maintaining and enhancing the financial stability of our cooperative through some very challenging times,” said KIUC President and CEO David Bissell. “The Board of Directors and I have full confidence in her abilities and welcome her to this key leadership position.”

Tsuda brings extensive experience to KIUC, having worked previously as director of finance for Grove Farm Company, district manager for the State of Hawaii Department of Taxation, and senior financial analyst for Hawaiian Electric.

Tsuda, a graduate of Kauai High School, started her career with Deloitte & Touche LLP, where she progressed to manager, audit. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

“It is an honor to serve our community by contributing to the success of KIUC,” Tsuda said. “As the only electric cooperative in the State of Hawaii, we are pursuing aggressive strategic goals and that will strengthen KIUC while benefiting our members and the community at large.”
