Missing toddler found near Nawiliwili Road

LIHUE — A Missing toddler was found following a brief search on Friday. 

Officers reported that on April 18, at around 5 p.m., law enforcement personnel, along with the Kauai Fire Department KFD, responded to a report of a missing toddler near Nawiliwili Road in Lihue.

KFD’s Rescue 3 personnel onboard Air 1 helicopter, along with KPD’s drone team, immediately airlifted and began their aerial search. Due to the swift response of both rescue personnel and the community, the toddler was found moments later in the immediate proximity with no reported injuries.

Kauai police extended their gratitude to the Kauai Search and Rescue team, the Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement, and the public for their vigilance and assistance during the search.
