National Park Service seeking leads on HVNP theft

The National Park Service is investigating a theft of government property that occurred within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park about a year-and-a-half ago.

On or about Oct.
16, 2017, government property, including two government fleet cards, was stolen from the park.

Security video has been obtained from a Union 76 service station where the stolen cards were used.

Images of a suspect and a suspect vehicle were obtained from the security video.

Investigators are seeking information that will help identify those responsible for this crime. Anyone who recognizes the individual or vehicle pictured or has information that could help investigators is asked to call or text 888-652-0009, go online to www.nps.gov/ISB and click “submit a tip” or email nps_isb@nps.gov.

Anonymous tips are welcome, the park service said.
