North Shore Lions distribute $50K in scholarships

KILAUEA — With high school graduations knocking and some of the higher education institutions closing out for the summer, the North Shore Lions Club, with Stuart Cain, its Scholarship Chairman, presented the 34 recipients of the 2025 North Shore Lions Club scholarships.

After securing permission from Steve and Janine Hunt of the Hunt Family Foundation, the North Shore Lions Club Scholarship Gathering announced the recipients of $50,000 in scholarships.

The bulk of the scholarships presented are funded by proceeds from the annual North Shore Lions Golf Tournament and its accompanying Helicopter Ball Drop.

This year’s club’s 22nd tournament was held in January, and the Lions announced plans to award $50,000 to students.

Student recipients include Aliya Brodman, Alyssa Lyons, Amanda Dunn, Andrea Fernandez, Bodhi Czarske, Bryanna Gray, Chloe Hannsz, Echo Rohner, Emily Josephine Ulloa Amador, Hiilani Ventura, Ilikea Kamalani, Isabella Bivens, Kailea Danielson, Kayla Marie Dugay Perez, Kealohilani Molina, Keira Garcia, Kiana Mertz, Kilinoe Oliveira, Lily Watari, Lyla Nakayama, Makana Winston, Melina Obar, Rain Hannsz, Ramana Wills, Regan Santos, Robbin Mizushima, Sage Keller, Shayna Owings, Shyloh McCann, Sofia Smith, Stone Abubo, Sydney Doi, Tyler Tanaka.
