LIHUE — With the closing of the Central Pacific Bank Lihue Branch located at the corner of Rice and Umi Streets on Friday, CPB announced the relocation of the branch as part of its ongoing commitment and transition plan to serve the Kauai community.
CPB is the title sponsor for all Kauai Interscholastic Federation (high school) sporting events and is joined by neighboring islands in sponsoring the titles for events sanctioned by the Hawaii High School Athletic Association.
The location vacated by CPB will be redeveloped by Riverbend Management and Foulger Pratt into a mixed-use project featuring 66 affordable housing units and 16,000 square feet of commercial space, according to a release by Central Pacific Bank.
Following the closure of the Rice Street location, the CPB team utilized the Memorial Day weekend to finalize the move to the new facility at 4454 Nuhou Street, Suite 408, at the Hokulei Village shopping center. Having the extra day to work through the holiday weekend, CPB opened for business at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Now known as the Nuhou Street branch, the new facility is designed to provide seamless continuity, offering the same services previously available at the Rice Street location, including foreign currency exchange, wire transfers, and safe deposit box access.
The Nuhou Street branch adds interior and exterior Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) to enhance customer convenience. Both ATMs offer CPB’s best-in-class features, including top-of-the-line security functions, a card tap feature, the ability to dispense multiple bill denominations, service in various languages, and envelope-free check and cash deposits.
“Our dedicated employees coordinated this move across multiple departments to ensure a smooth transition for our customers,” said Central Pacific Bank Chairman, President, and CEO Arnold Martines. “We appreciate our customers’ understanding during this brief transition.”
Customers with questions may call the Customer Service Center at 808-544-0500 or toll-free at 1-800-342-8422. Customers are also encouraged to download CPB’s top-rated app on their mobile device, where they can live chat with a CPB representative.
