LIHUE — A number of road-related projects are on tap in the days ahead with grass cutting, tree trimming and guardrail repair making up the bulk of the work, the Hawaii Department of Transportation said in an update on Friday.
Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. A map of lane closures can be found here, https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/
The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Friday. All work is weather permitting.
Kipu
Single lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 4 to 6.79 in the vicinity of Puuana Road and Maluhia Road from Sunday, July 20 to Friday, July 25 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for soil boring.
Roving lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 2.9 to 8.7 in the vicinity of Kipu Road and Omao Road, nightly from Sunday, July 20 to Friday, July 25 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping.
Koloa
Single lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) in either direction, between mile post 7 to 10 in the vicinity of Ka Hili Wai Street and Akemama Road from Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25 from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. for cutting grass and guardrail clearing.
Nawiliwili
Right lane closure on Nawiliwili Road (Route 51) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.0 to 0.9, in the vicinity of Waapa Road and Kapule Highway, on Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for shoulder and gutter cleaning.
Wailua
Two lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 5.6 to 5.9, in the vicinity of Wailua Bridge, on Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for bridge repair. There will be one lane of traffic open in both directions.
Kealia
Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 9.8 to 9.9, in the vicinity of Mailihuna Road to Cane Haul Road, on Tuesday, July 22 and Thursday, July 24 from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for cleaning the roundabout.
Kalihiwai
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 24.4 to 28.1, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, on Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25 from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. nightly for application of paving joint sealant.
Princeville
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 0.3 to 1.2, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for asphalt reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Hanalei
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) in the Haena bound direction between mile post 2.7 to 3.3, between the Tahiti Nui and Anae Road, on Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving and concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 4 to 9, in the vicinity of Haena Beach Park on, Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.
Wailua Homesteads
Single lane closure on Kuamoo Road (Route 580) possible in either direction between mile post 0.1 to 4, in the vicinity of Ohana Street and Hawaiiana Street nightly, on Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping and marker installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Right lane closure on Kuamoo Road (Route 580) possible in either direction between mile post 1 to 2, in the vicinity of Kahawai Place, on Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.
Kapaia
Right lane closure on Maalo Road (Route 583) possible in either direction between mile post 2 to 3.5, on Saturday, July 19 from 4 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for cutting grass.
Waikoko
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 4.3 to 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahai Trailhead, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside. Wahiawa
Right lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) possible in either direction, between mile post 2 to 2.5, in the vicinity of McBride New Mill Road, on Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass and fire break maintenance.
Kokee
Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction between mile post 4.6 to 11.5, on Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for installation of BMP (Best Management Practices), grubbing, and clearing. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Right lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction between mile post 6.5 to 7, on Saturday, July 19 from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. for tree trimming.
