LIHUE — A number of road-related projects are on tap in the days ahead with grass cutting, tree trimming and guardrail repair making up the bulk of the work, the Hawaii Department of Transportation said in an update on Friday.
Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. A map of lane closures can be found here, https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/
The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Friday. All work is weather permitting.
Kipu
Right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 1.9 to 2.9 in the vicinity of Anonui Street and Kipu Road nightly from Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11 from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. for cutting grass and guardrail clearing.
Roving lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 2.9 to 8.7 in the vicinity of Kipu Road and Omao Road, nightly from Sunday, July 6 to Friday, July 11 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping.
Omao
Right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) in the eastbound direction, between mile post 7.9 to 8.2 in the vicinity of Punee Road, Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for tree trimming
Kaumakani
Right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 18.9 to 21.8 in the vicinity of Kaumakani Road, on Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for clearing vegetation and fire break maintenance.
Lihue
Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the northbound direction, between mile post 4 to 4.5, in the vicinity of Kauai Beach Road and Wailua Golf Course, on Tuesday, July 8 and Thursday, July 10 from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for cutting grass.
Kapaa
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 8 to 9.5, in the vicinity of Akia Road to Kealia Lookout, on Sunday, July 6 to Friday, July 11 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for resurfacing, concrete, and electrical work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Princeville
Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 2, in the vicinity of Emmalani Drive and Hanalei River, on Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.
Hanalei
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) in the Haena bound direction between mile post 2.7 to 3.3, between the Tahiti Nui and Anae Road on Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) in the Haena bound direction between mile post 2.7 to 3.3, between the Tahiti Nui and Anae Road on Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for concrete work and paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Wahiawa
Right lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) possible in either direction, between mile post 0 to 2, in the vicinity of Kauwai Street and McBride New Mill Road, on Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for vegetation clearing and fire break maintenance.
Waikoko
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 4.3 to 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahai Trailhead, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside. Kokee
Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction between mile post 4.6 to 11.5, on Monday, July 7 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for Best Management Practices installation and shoulder stabilization.
Wailua Homesteads
Single lane closure on Kuamoo Road (Route 580) possible in either direction between mile post 0.1 to 4, in the vicinity of Ohana Street and Hawaiiana Street nightly, on Sunday, July 6 to Friday, July 11 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping and marker installation.
Single lane closure on Kuamoo Road (Route 580) possible in either direction between mile post 1.7 to 4, in the vicinity of Kahawai Place and Hawaiiana Street, on Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for striping and marker installation.
