Road closures for the week of November 1-7

LIHUE — A number of road-related projects are on tap in the days ahead with grass cutting, tree trimming and guardrail repair making up the bulk of the work, the Hawaii Department of Transportation said in an update on Friday.

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. A map of lane closures can be found here, https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/

The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Friday. All work is weather permitting.

Pua Loke

Side pocket closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) in the southbound direction, near mile post 0.5 in the vicinity of Uahi Road, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for waterline installation.

Kipu to Koloa

Single lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 4 to 5.2 in the vicinity of Puuana Road and Kahili Road, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

Lawai to Eleele

Single lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 10 to 14 in the vicinity of Akemama Road, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass and guardrail clearing.

Nawiliwili

Single lane closure on Nawiliwili Road (Route 51) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.0 to 0.8 in the vicinity of Waapa Road and Rice Street, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for concrete sidewalk and curb work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Kapaia to Hanamaulu

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 1.2 to 1.8 in the vicinity of Kapaia Road and Laulima Street, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

Kapaa

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 8 to 9.5 in the vicinity of Akia Road, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for concrete and electrical work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Kalihiwai to Princeville

Side pocket shift with intermittent lane closure as needed on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 24.4 to 28.1, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for striping.

Princeville to Hanalei

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.3 to 1.2 in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for Hydro-mulching, fence, and guardrail installation on Hanalei Hill. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Hanalei

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 1.2 to 2.3, in the vicinity of Hanalei Dolphin Restaurant and the Hanalei bridge, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for guardrail installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Lumahai to Halehomaha

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 5 to 8, in the vicinity of Alealea Road, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

Waikoko

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 4.6 to 4.8, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahai Beach, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for soil nail drilling and grouting. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Kokee

Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction between mile post 4.6 to 11.5, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Roving shoulder closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction between mile post 2 to 6, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

Kapaia

Single lane closure on Maalo Road (Route 583) possible in either direction between mile post 0.4 to 0.9, in the vicinity of Cane Road, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.
