Road closures for the week of November 8-14

LIHUE — A number of road-related projects are on tap in the days ahead with grass cutting, tree trimming and guardrail repair making up the bulk of the work, the Hawaii Department of Transportation said in an update on Friday.

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. A map of lane closures can be found here, https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/

The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Friday. All work is weather permitting.

Kipu to Koloa

Single lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 4.5 to 8.5 in the vicinity of Puuana Road and Maha Road, on Monday, Nov. 10 and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

Lawai to Eleele

Single lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 9 to 14 in the vicinity of Upa Road and Halewili Road, on Monday, Nov. 10, and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass and guardrail clearing.

Nawiliwili

Single lane closure on Nawiliwili Road (Route 51) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.0 to 0.8 in the vicinity of Waapa Road and Rice Street, on Monday, Nov. 10 and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for concrete sidewalk and curb work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Kapaia to Hanamaulu

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 1.1 to 1.7 in the vicinity of Maalo Road and Laukona Street on Monday, Nov. 10 and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

Kalihiwai to Princeville

Side pocket shift with intermittent lane closure as needed on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 24.4 to 28.1, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, on Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for striping.

Princeville to Hanalei

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.3 to 1.2 in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Monday, Nov. 10 and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for Hydro-mulching, fence, and guardrail installation on Hanalei Hill. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Hanalei

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 1.2 to 2.3, in the vicinity of Hanalei Dolphin Restaurant and the Hanalei Bridge, on Monday, Nov. 10 and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for guardrail installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Waikoko

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 4.6 to 4.8, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahai Beach, on Monday, Nov. 10 and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for soil nail drilling and grouting. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Lumahai to Halehomaha

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 4.5 to 6, in the vicinity of Lumahai Beach Park on Monday, Nov. 10 and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

Kalaheo to Eleele

Single lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) in either direction between mile post 0 to 3.8, in the vicinity of Kaumualii Highway and Huehu Road, on Monday, Nov. 10 and from Wednesday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

Kapaia

Single lane closure on Maalo Road (Route 583) in the southbound direction between mile post 0.4 to 0.9, on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 4 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for cutting grass.
