Road closures for The week of September 20-26

LIHUE — A number of road-related projects are on tap in the days ahead with grass cutting, tree trimming and guardrail repair making up the bulk of the work, the Hawaii Department of Transportation said in an update on Friday.

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. A map of lane closures can be found here, https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/

The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Friday. All work is weather permitting.

Lihue to Puhi

Right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.1 to 1.7 in the vicinity of Hoomana Road and Puhi Road, from Monday, Sept. 22 to Friday, Sept. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for restriping crosswalks.

Pua Loke

Right turn pocket closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) in the southbound direction, near mile post 0.5 in the vicinity of Uahi Road, from Monday, Sept. 22 to Friday, Sept. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for waterline installation.

Lawai

Lane shift on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 9.5 to 10 in the vicinity of Akemama Road, on Monday, Sept. 22 to Friday, Sept. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for installation of new reflectors.

Kalaheo to Eleele

Right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 12 to 15 in the vicinity of Ola Pua Road and Puahau Place, on Monday, Sept. 22 to Friday, Sept. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

Waimea to Kekaha

Roving shoulder closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) in the westbound direction, between mile post 23.3 to 24.4 between Royal Coconut Grove and Kikiaola Boat Harbor, on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. for ditch cleaning.

Nawiliwili

Single lane closure on Nawiliwili Road (Route 51) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.0 to 0.8 in the vicinity of Waapa Road and Rice Street, on Monday, Sept. 22 to Friday, Sept. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for concrete sidewalk and curb work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Wailua

Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction, between mile post 5.6 to 5.9, in the vicinity of the mauka Wailua Bridge, on Wednesday, Sept. 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for concrete pour for the pier cap.

Kapaa

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 8.1 to 9.6, in the vicinity of Ulu Street and Mailihuna Road, on Monday, Sept. 22 to Friday, Sept. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for pavement markings and concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Moloaa

Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 16 to 18, on Monday, Sept. 22 to Thursday, Sept. 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

Kalihiwai to Princeville

Intermittent single lane closure as needed on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 24.4 to 28.1, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, on Monday, Sept. 22 to Friday, Sept. 26 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for striping.

Princeville to Hanalei

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.3 to 1.2 in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Monday, Sept. 22 to Friday, Sept. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for guardrail installation and drain line work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Hanalei

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 1.2 to 4.2, in the vicinity of Ohiki Road, on Monday, Sept. 22 to Friday, Sept. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for concrete work and guardrail installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Kapaia

Right lane closure on Maalo Road (Route 583) possible in either direction between mile post 1 to 2, in the vicinity of Cane Haul Road, on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 4 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

Kapaa

Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction between mile post 1.0 to 2.4, in the vicinity of Olohena Road, on Monday, Sept. 22 to Friday, Sept. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.
