KEKAHA — The county Department of Water will shut off water service on Kopa‘a, Hale Lio and Ou streets and a portion of Pueo Road, from Kopa‘a Street to Kekaha Road in Kekaha today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., weather-permitting.
The shutdown is necessary in order to allow DOW to install a mainline valve. This installation is one of three scheduled for this service area.
Customers in the affected service area are advised to prepare for the service shutdown by taking the following steps:
• Store water to meet your needs until water service can be restored;
• Notify neighbors, family and friends of the shutdown;
• Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty during the shutdown;
• Monitor water service announcements online via facebook.com/KauaiDOW.
Hydrant faucets with access to potable water will be installed at the intersections of Kopa‘a Street and Elepaio Road and Kekaha Road and Hale Lio Street. Customers must bring their own containers to fill up if needed.
