HONOLULU — Kapaa High School girls volleyball, the Kauai Interscholastic Federation champions, earned the Division II, No. 4 seed at the New City Nissan Hawaii High School Division II Girls Volleyball State Championships that will be held in Honolulu, starting Wednesday.
According to the Saturday Bracket announcement by the HHSAA, Kapaa, finishing the KIF season with a 6-0 undefeated record, receives a bye on Wednesday. The Lady Warriors will face the winner of No. 5 Roosevelt and Hawaii Preparatory Academy contest on Thursday night at Kalani High School.
The Division II top seed belongs to University with Parker getting the No. 2 seed. Seabury Hall of the Maui Interscholastic League earned the No. 3 seed.
Other schools participating in the Division II Bracket include Molokai, Kau, HPA, Leilehua, Maryknoll, Hawaii Baptist Academy and Waipahu High School.
Division I play starts on Monday with Iolani earning the top seed, followed by Kahuku receiving the No. 2 seed. Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii is the No. 3 seed, and Kamehameha Schools-Maui is the No. 4 seed.
Other schools participating in the Division I bracket include Konawaena, Mililani, Moanalua, Hilo, King Kekaulike, Campbell, Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama and Kapolei.
