2 cases of COVID-19 Sunday

LIHU‘E — Two new cases of COVID-19 were reported by the state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office Sunday.

Both cases are adult residents whose source of infection is community-acquired.

All active cases are in isolation, and close contacts are being identified, offered testing and directed to quarantine. Investigations are ongoing. One previously-identified visitor whose case was related to international travel has been determined not to be a case, and removed from case counts.

Sunday’s cases bring the number of active cases to 40, with 344 cumulative cases.

Free testing at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihu‘e is available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Testing is also available through primary-care physicians, hospitals and urgent-care clinic. Contact providers directly for more information.
