LIHU‘E — The state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported six new cases of COVID-19 on Friday.
Friday’s cases are all residents. Of the six new cases, four are children and two are adults.
All six cases are considered community-acquired. Five of the community-acquired infections are close contacts of a previously announced case or are tied to an active cluster. The remaining case has no known source of infection.
These cases bring the number of active cases to 102, with nine hospitalized.
To date, the county has recorded 3,120 cumulative cases.
Free COVID-19 testing is available at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihu‘e weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It will reopen Monday, Nov. 29.
Mobile testing is available at the Hanalei Neighborhood Center today and the Kapa‘a Neighborhood Center Sunday, both from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Testing is also available through primary-care physicians, hospital and urgent-care clinics. For a full list of testing locations, visit kauai.gov/covidtest.
Many vaccination sites accept walk-ins. Residents aged 18 and older are eligible for any vaccine available at pharmacies, hospitals and clinics. The Pfizer vaccine has been authorized for use in those 5 years of age and older, and is available at Wilcox Medical Center, Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital and the Kaiser Permanente Lihu‘e Clinic.
