PUHI — Curtains for the Kauai Chorale spring concerts will rise at the Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center on Saturday at 6 p.m., and a matinee on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Tickets for “A Dream Once Sung,” the Chorale’s theme for the spring concert, will be available online at www.kauaichorale.com, or at the door.
Under the direction of Joe Moore who gets help from the collaborative pianist, Ben Nause, this spring concert is described by Moore as “a tapestry of choral works centered around the theme of dreams.”
“Almost everything comes to me in a dream,” inspired by Moore’s real dreams are among the selections that will be performed, along with “California Dreamin’,” “The Impossible Dream,” “Pure Imagination,” and other “dreamy’ titles.
The Kauai Chorale is a group of non-auditioned singers that come together to rehearse at the Lihue Parish Hall under the direction of Moore.
“Oh my heavens, well it is totally inspiring,” Moore said. “It truly feels like a dream come true to work with this group. The joy, the dedication and the community we’ve built together. It all comes through in the music.”
Moore welcomes anyone who loves to sing to join the group in September when it reassembles in preparation for the holiday concerts. Practices are usually on Monday evenings.
