Additional hours at driver’s licensing office

Hawaii County has announced an extension of hours of operation at the Hilo and Kailua-Kona driver’s licensing offices to help process expired or expiring credentials.

The extended hours of operation are as follows:

• In Hilo, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16;

• In Kailua-Kona, 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Oct. 21, 22, 26 and 27; 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Oct. 23.

Additional appointments may be offered online for prebookings and walk-ins with credentials that are expired or will be expiring within the next 30 days may be accommodated, pending availability.

The Department of Finance thanks the community for its continued patience and reminds residents that expired driver’s licenses, state IDs, and instructional permits (other than commercial) shall remain valid until Nov. 30.
