Comments sought on judge applicants

Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald is seeking public comment on nominees for a judgeship in the District Family Court in the Third Circuit, Island of Hawaii.

The names submitted for this vacancy by the Judicial Selection Commission, in alphabetical order, are:

• Jill M. Hasegawa, currently employed with Raymond K. Hasegawa, Attorney at Law. Hasegawa is a graduate of the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law, and was admitted to the Hawaii State Bar in 2004.

• William B. Heflin, currently employed at Alcain Naniole &Heflin. Heflin is a graduate of the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law, and was admitted to the Hawaii State Bar in 2001.

• Haaheo M. Kahoohalahala, currently a county deputy prosecutor. Kahoohalahala is a graduate of the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law, and was admitted to the Hawaii State Bar in 2012.

• Jeffrey W. Ng, currently a state deputy public defender. Ng is a graduate of the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law, and was admitted to the Hawaii State Bar in 2002.

• Andrew D. Son, currently a county deputy prosecutor. Son is a graduate of Loyola Law School, and was admitted to the Hawaii State Bar in 2006.

• Sherilyn K. Tavares, currently a state deputy public defender. Tavares is a graduate of the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law, and was admitted to the Hawaii State Bar in 2012.
