Community skatepark design meetings in Hanapepe, Nawiliwili

LIHU‘E — Justin McDonald has been skating on Kaua‘i for more than 35 years, before the birth of Kaua‘i Skate ‘Ohana.

Additionally, McDonald and his family, including son Zyryn, have had a hand in the construction of the skateparks around Kaua‘i on behalf of Kaua‘i Skate ‘Ohana.

The Kaua‘i Skate ‘Ohana, Dreamland Skateparks with the support of the County of Kaua‘i announced an open house outreach event for the Hanapepe and Nawiliwili skatepark projects on July 19-20.

The Hanapepe outreach event will take place at the Hanapepe Town Park, where a skatepark is currently located, starting at 5 p.m. on July 19.

The Nawiliwili outreach event will take place at the Nawiliwili Beach Park on July 20 starting at 2 p.m.

The outreach activity engages with the community and gathers information and ideas about the community skatepark designs.
