LIHU‘E — Na Hoku Hanohano award winners Kupaoa provided Contractors Association of Kaua‘i members and guests with a private concert during the socially-distanced meeting featuring to-go bento at the garden court of the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort.
Primary to the meeting held in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic was the installation of the 2021 CAK Officers and Directors, as well as an update on the Koa‘e Makana Workforce housing project in Koloa by Craig Watase, president of Mark Development.
Jacquelyn Contrades, a project manager at Shioi Construction, will start her second term as president of CAK with Demetrio Tolentino, a project engineer with Jas. W. Glover, filling the first vice president chair. Alicia Leong, the corporate secretary with Ka‘iwa Construction, is the Immediate Past President.
Nathan Konishi, co-owner of Pacific Blue Construction will be the second vice president.
Jerry Nishek, the general manager of Kaua‘i Nursery and Landscaping, will serve as the CAK Board Secretary, and Koa Duncan, a project specialist with the Grove Farm Company, will be the association’s treasurer.
CAK Board members will include Joni Hamada-Patricio, co-owner of HAMCO Glass &Glazing, Matt Reves, project manager with Earthworks Pacific, Trinette Kaui, area manager and Principal Broker with Alexander &Baldwin, and Fred Pascual, Distribution Planning Supervisor at the Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative.
Installation of the new CAK leaders was done by CAK honorary member Judge Gerald Matsunaga.
The Contractors Association of Kaua‘i was established in 1957 as a trade association of licensed contractors, suppliers, and businesses affiliated with the construction industry on Kaua‘i.
