More than 800 people watched as Isabel Gampon worked through the different phases to emerge as the 2019 Miss Kauai Filipina at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall Saturday night.
Presented by the Kauai Filipino Community Council and its president Mario Trinidad, the scholarship pageant also awarded $1,000 scholarships to six graduating students from the island’s three public high schools: Juliana Tampus, Kahiau Gonsalves, Jenny Villanueva, Krysten Padasdao, Kimberly Ramos and Azea Minia.
Tiffany Sagucio is first runner-up, followed by Gwyneth Abella being named second runner-up at the pageant chaired by Virgie Cruzada.
Gampon, as the 2019 Miss Kauai Filipina, earns eligibility to participate in the state Miss Hawaii Filipina pageant that this year will be held Saturday, July 27, at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.
