Culinary scholarship deadline coming soon

HONOLULU — The Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association Restaurant, Food & Beverage and Agriculture Committee said Sunday, May 2 is the deadline to submit completed application forms for the HLTA Culinary Scholarship.

The HLTA Culinary Scholarship is a one-year, $2,500 scholarship to be given to a Hawai‘i high school graduate.

Candidates must be graduating high school seniors admitted to a two-year culinary school in Hawai‘i.

Completed applications are reviewed by the RFBA Committee Scholarship Selection Committee that includes HLTA staff, and the scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates a high level of academic achievement and leadership and expresses an interest in pursuing a culinary education and career.

Applications can be downloaded from hawaiilodging.org/scholarships.html. Completed forms can be emailed to jcaires@hawaiilodging.org, or mailed to the HLTA office, 2279 Kalakaua Ave., Suite 1702, Honolulu, HI 96815 by the deadline.

The HLTA Culinary Scholarship is one of several scholarships provided by HLTA to local students in pursuit of academic goals.

This tradition of giving has continued despite the setbacks of 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic.
