DHHL seeks beneficiary feedback on casino proposal

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands opened a public comment period for beneficiaries on a draft legislative proposal to authorize a resort and casino on Hawaiian Home lands designated for commercial use in Kapolei, Oahu.

The department said in a statement it has conducted two virtual beneficiary consultation meetings this week. Beneficiary consultation materials, the draft legislative proposal and other related information can be found by visiting

Tyler Gomes, DHHL deputy chairman, encouraged homesteaders and wait list applicants to submit comments on the proposal.
