Emergency preparedness webinar is Thursday

Hurricane season starts on Monday, June 1, and this year the Central Pacific is expected to experience two to six tropical cyclones between now and the end of November.

On Thursday, June 4 from 5 to 6 p.m., the public is invited to hear directly from hazard-preparedness experts at Hawai‘i Sea Grant and county emergency-management specialists who will be providing important information on how to prepare homes and families prior to a hurricane reaching the islands.

This webinar will cover the recently updated fourth edition of the Homeowner’s Handbook to Prepare for Natural Hazards, covering primarily evacuation planning, as well as retrofit options. There will be a question-and-answer period.

Advance registration is required, and space is limited. To register, visit eventbrite.com/e/105198306968.
