Grant money for COVID-19 relief

LIHU‘E — Dr. Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg’s Chan Zuckerberg Kaua‘i Community Fund of Hawai‘i Community Foundation has provided a second grant to help Kaua‘i residents suffering financially from the COVID-19 situation.

In response to the ongoing pandemic situation, the grant money will further CCH’s efforts to directly assist those financially impacted by the COVID-19 economic downturn.

An undisclosed amount of money was included in this second grant; in early April HCF donated $1 million to go toward COVID-19 relief on Kaua‘i.

“Many thanks to the Hawai‘i Community Foundation and to Dr. Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg for their generous gift that will aid so many during these challenging times,” said Catholic Charities Hawai‘i CEO and President Robert Van Tassell.

Kaua‘i residents seeking assistance can contact Catholic Charities Hawaii’s Lihu‘e office at (808) 241-4673 (HOPE) to see if they qualify. CCH staff will provide information on the application process and required documentation.
