Hanalei, Kapa‘a refuse transfer stations close for repairs

LIHU‘E — The County of Kaua‘i Solid Waste Division is announcing temporary closures at the Hanalei and Kapa‘a refuse transfer stations for scheduled maintenance work.

Closures are as follows:

On Sept. 2, all services will be closed at the Hanalei refuse transfer station. Repairs are estimated to take four hours. The transfer station will open once repairs are made. During this temporary closure, the public is advised to use the Kapa’a refuse transfer station.

From Sept. 8 to Sept. 9, the Kapa’a refuse transfer station will only accept bagged trash due to maintenance repairs. During these dates, the public is advised to use the Lihu‘e refuse transfer station for bulky item service. All other services, such as green waste, metals, tires, etc., will remain open.
