Happy Earth Day, Kaua‘i!

Kudos to all (!!!) those groups who are either doing, or planning to do events Saturday in honor of Earth Day (yes, I still have my Citizen Forester pin…do you know the value of that little pin?). And kudos to those groups who did their Earth Day activities on the actual date which is today!

Now, don’t forget about those climate change events coming up, too.

Another round of kudos to Chief of Police Todd Raybuck and our Kaua‘i Police Department on celebrating Coffee With A Cop, now that COVID-19 rules are relaxing a bit…got to meet Deputy Chief of Police Stan Olsen in person, and so nice to see Capts. Mark Ozaki and Rod Green outside of the office.

Special Olympics Track and Field Day coming up on May 7 at Vidinha Stadium…are we on for the Troy Barboza Law Enforcement Run? And, don’t forget May 3 when Coffee With A Cop moves to the Kaua‘i Coffee Visitor Center.

The Wednesday night “rained-out” (thank heaven for live streaming, yes, Mike Koerte?) for Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation softball was a great opportunity to meet the real people like Freddy Levinthol (is it still “Go, Steelers?”) who had great observations on a whole range of topics ranging from football, softball (yes, we were there for that), and even the Easter Bunny.

Finally, for all graduating high school seniors (and college students, too), check out the scholarships! John Gordon of the North Shore Lions Club said they “found” more funds for more students, and how about the Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce, or the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau? Yes, they can accept more applications!
