Happy Camper for Friday, April 26, 2019

Kudos to Microsoft (they brought over a lot of technicians, including some from The Microsoft Store on Oahu!), and Leslie Wilkins and the Maui Economic Development Board for making the DigiCamp a reality Thursday at the Kapaa Middle School.

Leah Aiwohi of the Kauai High School STEMworks program said the DigiCamp is one of three being sponsored by Microsoft in Hawaii, Kauai being the second. She said first-year video instructor Kanoe Sakihama had three of her Student Television Network pupils in the camp, and she brought over Kauai High School student Brandon Marcos, who is scheduled to be a keynote speaker before about a thousand people when the Hawaii STEMworks conference opens on Oahu next week.

Patrick Ono of Matson Navigation was invited to check out the Ag Awareness Day taking place at the University of Hawaii Wailua agriculture research station by Johnny Gordines of the Kauai County Farm Bureau, and kudos to Ashley Nagaoka for doing a great job moderating the sit-down discussion with U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono at the Kauai Chamber of Commerce Women Leading with Impact symposium at the Kauai Beach Resort (Nelson Batalion said they still have seats left for the Charity Walk pancake buffet Saturday).
