Happy Camper for Friday, December 24, 2021

Kudos to Holly Van Every and Michael Jay Schoenfeld In Bliss who made their first appearance Tuesday for the dinner crowd at the Kukui Grove Center food court. They got the full light treatment from Josh Pajella who now knows what can be done outside the box with the stage lighting.

Santa’s House was busy, no time to check on Mrs. Claus for the latest community happenings.

Did you ever see Japanese soda? The new “A Taste of Japan” section at Times Supermarket (do they have this at the Big Save stores?) has a wide variety of Japanese foodstuff from the Don Quijote Group, including an expanded noodle section, special sauces, and even mushrooms from Japan (do you notice how the Oriental mushroom all come from China?). Definitely worth a trip to check out…more variety to Rose’s Pinoy Favorites’ Filipino packaged goods.

OK, Christmas is here, and Stacie Chiba-Miguel (Merry Christmas from the Winter Wonderland at the Pop Up Farmers Market at The Shops at Kukui‘ula) from Hokulei Village said Erica Kleinfeld is here and getting ready to open doors to the fireworks shop the day after Christmas…a reminder that permits are needed for firecracker purchases.

Merry Christmas, Kaua‘i! Stay safe, avoid large crowds, wear your face mask, practice social distancing and keep the omicron variant at bay.
