Happy Camper for Friday, February 10, 2023

What a great bunch of surprises at the Kaua‘i Beach Resort awaited people when attending the Charity Walk kickoff on Tuesday. A nice Valentine’s Day arrangement by Robert Ancheta (he also did the Hawaiian blessing for the Charity Walk) greeted guests to the kickoff. Jennie Wong (she’s the Area Marketing Manager) said Robert was part of the Christmas celebration where he not only made a whole bunch of decorated trees for the season, but also joined the group who did caroling throughout the resort.

And, welcome back Chef Mark Sassone to the KBR culinary crew! Nelson Batalion is now in charge of banquets, and even offered to validate the parking for those guests who did not heed the “Event Parking” signs because who wants to park in the swamp?

Nikki Ige (her dad even has the same name as former Gov. David Ige) said The Grove Farm Market will have another go at hosting the Valentine’s Day crafters on Saturday (pray for good weather!) after everything went soggy from all that bad weather last week. Everything starts at 9:30 a.m. at Puhi open field.

According to aunty Laura Dizon-Vegas (she’s one of the new agents at Finance Insurance that blessed its Kaua‘i office, last week), Jordon Dizon, a recruiter with the Eagles, is looking for his third Super Bowl ring on Sunday when the big game kicks off.

And, don’t forget, the Kaua‘i Quilt Show 2023 (and the separate location Quilter’s Boutique) opens Friday at the Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery at Kukui Grove Center.
