Happy Camper for Friday, January 29, 2021

Watch out for the Mini Me, who has a lot of spirit, said Mark Jones (he grinds the jicama raw — just peel it and eat) during the farmers’ market at The Shops at Kukui‘ula, where Adam and Christine make a good team, Christine keeping an eye on Mini Me and talking to customers while Adam whacks away to fill a gallon jug with fresh coconut water. Anyone for coconut?

Isobel Storch still has her chocolate persimmon (and the cake, too), and Carol Simon is trying to figure another way to get people to stop by Coldwell Banker’s office at The Shops at Kukui‘ula. Anyone need hand sanitizers? Meanwhile, John Rivera and friends (Phil Worwa said ‘“Christmas Morning in Hawai‘i Nei” is going to be the new anthem) had shoppers wehi-ing and sliding in Koke‘e outside The Dolphin that is now open for fish market and dine-in on special days and hours.

Dr. Francis Takahashi is getting excited because he found out Merriman’s is going to re-open on Feb. 12. We know what’s on tap for dinner that night. Jude Huber had so much rambutan, but couldn’t do the two-hand showing because she got a bonus Wednesday — her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine that she got on the way to market. Yes, this tier allows agricultural workers to get their shots.
