Happy Camper for Friday, November 29, 2019

The turkey is pau (hope there’s some left for turkey sandwiches), and kudos to the Salvation Army and the Kapaa Interfaith Association on hosting great community feeds (Chef Johnny Saguid said the diners were hungry so put a lot on the plate) in Hanapepe, Lihue, and Kapaa (that one was on Thanksgiving Day!).

Janice Bond brought some people to the convention hall for meals, and who was that good Samaritan who came on behalf of the homebound at Sun Village? Capt. Bill Simon said the Salvation Army has a big bus so might consider more outreach for the next one.

Now, it’s off to the shopping. Sherri Sanchez Holcomb said this year’s Kauai Marriott craft fair (it’s Friday from 9 a.m.) benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network features some unique Kauai products like honey and Kauai Chocolate to name a few, and Laurie Ho is ready with the Small Business Saturday goodies for the Kauai Community Market from 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Kauai Community College parking lot. Monkeypod Jam will be there, but the big activities (make your own cookies!) takes place at the Lawai factory.

What’s on tap for Cyber Monday?

And Eileen Winters (she said there are two television crews scheduled to cover the event) is already excited about the Lights on Rice parade that takes place Friday evening. Don’t forget the Kauai Museum Christmas Craft Fair (it starts at 9 a.m.), and the Festival of Lights opening ceremony (that starts at 6 p.m. sharp).
