Happy Camper for Friday, October 25, 2019

Congratulations to the Howl-oween dog costume contest winners who participated in the event coordinated by Newton Young and the Dog Fanciers … Alvin Uchida and Kuma getting the overall king award, Ernie Kaneakoa and Koa, Amy Stewart and Maile, April Worthington and Koala, Paula Neidengard and Sawyer and Kekoa … This Saturday is the big Halloween Festival that follows the Kauai United Way Walk A Thon at the Kukui Grove Center…don’t be late!

Kudos to Laurie Yoshida and all the people that hosted the great Harvest Ag Festival under the sunny Waimea skies, last week … nice to see Police Chief Todd Raybuck get not only pumpkins, but watermelons from the Waimea High School JROTC (ever see how busy Major Victor Aguilar’s calendar is?), and hopefully, Stephanie Iona took care of Coach Darryl Date and his Kauai Fire Department crew … just a lot of good fun!

Randy Francisco and Stephanie Castillo brought back the two documentaries to the Kukui Grove screen … more people should check out that movie night … no, this weekend we’re with the Monsters of Rock with Jeremy Hartshorn and the Bandwagon crew … that happens after the Halloween Festival.

Steve Kline and Charlene Dorsey are waiting for you at the Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital craft fair (it’s from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday!) and even got a headstart by offering tickets at the Harvest Ag Festival … you can hang out the whole day and take in the Nightmare in Waimea (get your canned goods, though!) that starts when the sun go down.

Over on the Eastside, check out the Kauai Christian Academy Fall Festival in Kilauea!
