Happy Camper for Friday, September 23, 2022

Arnie Hergon of Arnie’s Aloha Shirts (no, he doesn’t do flowers, anymore) said they live between the stop lights in Lawa‘i and Kalaheo.

Arnie was one of the vendors at the weekly Aloha Market at the National Tropical Botanical Garden where the alula (remember that plant from the NTBG online auction) has bounced back, and a new face, a Portulaca molokiniensis, showed up, celebrating with a full flush of blooms, right below that stop where the tour buses offload passengers (welcome, Naruto Noodles who took a break from the Food Truck Alley in Koloa to vend lunches at NTBG).

Jessica Clabo of Rainbow Wave Art (don’t forget to check out the pendants and other jewelry while checking out that fancy tile and mirrors) said she’ll be busy with the craft fair at the Veterans Center, Saturday, and the Wailua Creator’s Fair (oops, almost forgot it’s the fourth Sunday) at the Hilton Garden Inn where Mailelani’s will also be there…what about Waipua Garden?

Nope. Sunday is the Kaua‘i Pop Warner Football League games at Hanapepe Stadium that is pretty close to the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery where the West Kaua‘i Club 100 is hosting its annual Memorial Service for the 100th Inf. Btn.
