Happy Camper for Monday, April 22, 2019

Kudos to Jill Lowry, Mark Perriello, Carol Manera Texeira and Anna Baudouin on doing a bang-up job with the Business After Hours at Anaina Hou (Jill Lowry said they’re re-branding) where the U.S. Small Business Administration 2019 Kauai winners were featured. This was a great opportunity to meet up with Jane Sawyer of the SBA, and Leland Kahawai had a lot of his First Hawaiian Bank people (even Joyce Vidinha made it after having Tom Canute stand in for her earlier in the day for the Contractors Association of Kauai Home Expo prize distribution) on hand because the SBA Kauai winners were all nominated for the honor by First Hawaiian Bank personnel.

Monica Belz of the Kauai Government Employees Federal Credit Union was getting excited about their Kilauea branch, and Steve Kline of the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation made it all the way over from the Westside to sample the pupu created by chef Joseph Martinez using the farm to table concept.

OK, next on the Kauai Chamber of Commerce calendar is the Women Leading with Impact Symposium with Sen. Mazie Hirono Thursday at the Aqua Kauai Beach Resort, and Lowry said to check out the Friday Pau Hana events on the first Friday of the month (Carrice Caspillo Gardner said they even had a Jake Shimabukuro concert at Anaina Hou).

Happy Earth Day, Kauai!
